Various layouts, illustrations, covers, and figures for Physics Today
Physics Today April 2024
The Challenge
This feature covered a workshop on teaching methods, but the available images were low-quality and lacked diverse representation.
The Solution
An illustration provides a fun, engaging visual that represents learning and interaction while supporting diverse representation in the magazine. I created a mood board and color palette, selecting Futura for its geometric qualities to complement the illustration style.
Final Design
Visual Consistency To ensure consistency across feature stories spanning multiple spreads, I applied a cohesive color scheme and repeated visual elements throughout. For example, I incorporated illustrations of people and books across the layout, positioning figures on images and charts for a unified look.

The Challenge
Develop graphics for social media, Zoom backgrounds, and other promotional materials to celebrate AIP’s Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
Research
After brainstorming, I decided to represent each country through its native flowers. I researched popular blooms across numerous Asian countries and created a collage of these flowers as a reference for my illustrations.
After brainstorming ideas and creating a mood board, I began sketching my layout and creating comps.
